“- bloody brilliant...my favourite EP release of the year so far! Taking the best of the
progressive world and fusing it with a superb old school rock vibe, ''Mechanophobia'; is
piece of music that makes you happy to be alive”, Martin Hutchinson, Progradar
Kim Thompsett
KIms songs echo her love of nature and literature; styles range from dark folk and folk rock to acoustic, with elements of psychedelia and medieval music and very much in the vein of 70’s folk rock and ethereal forerunners such as Sandy Denny, Pentangle, Trees and more recently, Loreena McKennitt, to name but a few. This has resulted in a style that is very much her own and fairly unmistakeable.
Jessica Law and the Outlaws
Jessica Law is an alternative folk singer-songwriter with a dedicated following and more than fifteen years’ experience singing and playing mandolin. Accompanied by her band of Outlaws (Nimue Brown on viola, Keith Errington on acoustic guitar and James Weaselgrease on backing vocals), she specialises witty, dramatic folk songs with a strong storytelling element. With topics as diverse as lost polar explorers, vengeful mermaids and the miraculous migration of the European Eel, her melodies will haunt you as much as her stories.
